This calls for an independent board of enquiry.  I'm sure other teams would have welcomed the chance to trade for some stellar players. I know Mike Gagnon from team 12 would have jumped at the opportunity to upgrade his team, given that he's been carrying the team for the whole season. I smell a skunk in the works.

June 29, 2013

(Nashua)  North End Golf League Team 5 president and CEO Mike Barry has announced that today Team 5 has acquired the playing rights to Team 3 Captain, reigning North End Golf League and league MVP Dana Schalk.  To make room for Shalk Team 5 will trade journeyman player Bob Born to Team 3 along with cash considerations.  Team 5 will negotiate new, long-term contracts with Schalk and Barry as part of the deal.  Terms to be announced Monday.

Barry commented "We're exited to have Dana as a new member of
        our team.  As a leader and scoring champion we feel that Team 5
        has solidified our organization with both depth and quality." 
        And that "it wasn't that hard to trade away Born, especially
        watching his production as it faltered over the past few weeks. 
        We wish him nothing but the best."

The new Team 5, Barry and Schalk, will begin competition on
        Monday, July 1st.

Remaining Team 3 player, Mike Fahey, unavailable for comment
        released the following:  "I never really liked Schalk and this
        was a good way to 'get a little cash' while there was still
        value there.  Clearly we're in a rebuilding mode."

The newly formed Team 3 of Fahey and Born are scheduled to begin
        competition on Monday, July 1st as well.  However, with the
        announcement of the trade Fahey's agent has released in a
        Twitter announcement that he is opting not to play this week and
        will be using a substitute player.
